Parts of Speech क्या हैं?

English Grammar में किसी sentence के प्रत्येक word का अपना एक काम होता है। Sentence में word जिस प्रकार का काम करता है, उसके आधार पर उसे अलग-अलग grammatical categories में रखा जाता है। इन्हें Parts of Speech कहा जाता है।

English Grammar में सामान्य रूप से 8 Parts of Speech पढ़े जाते हैं:

1. Noun

Noun किसी person, place, animal, thing या idea के नाम को कहते हैं।

Examples:

Rahul is a student.
Delhi is a large city.
The book is on the table.

यहाँ Rahul, Delhi और book nouns हैं।

2. Pronoun

Pronoun वह word है जिसका प्रयोग noun की जगह किया जाता है।

Examples:

Rahul is my friend. He is very helpful.
Rita is a student. She studies hard.

यहाँ He और She, nouns की जगह इस्तेमाल हुए हैं।

3. Adjective

Adjective वह word है जो किसी noun या pronoun की quality, quantity या विशेषता बताता है।

Examples:

She has a beautiful dress.
He is a tall boy.
I have three books.

Beautiful, tall और three noun के बारे में अतिरिक्त information दे रहे हैं।

4. Verb

Verb किसी action, state या occurrence को बताता है।

Examples:

They play cricket.
She reads a book.
He is happy.

Play, reads और is यहाँ verbs के रूप में काम कर रहे हैं।

5. Adverb

Adverb सामान्यतः verb, adjective या दूसरे adverb के बारे में अतिरिक्त information देता है। यह बताता है कि कोई action कैसे, कब, कहाँ या कितनी मात्रा में हुआ।

Examples:

He runs quickly.
She sings beautifully.
They arrived early.

6. Preposition

Preposition noun या pronoun का sentence के दूसरे word के साथ relationship बताता है।

Examples:

The book is on the table.
The cat is under the chair.
He is going to school.

On, under और to यहाँ relationship बता रहे हैं।

7. Conjunction

Conjunction words, phrases या clauses को जोड़ने का काम करता है।

Examples:

Rahul and Amit are friends.
I wanted to go, but it was raining.
Study hard because the exam is near.

8. Interjection

Interjection अचानक व्यक्त होने वाली feeling या emotion को दिखाता है।

Examples:

Wow! What a beautiful view.
Oh! I forgot my book.
Hurrah! We won the match.

Sentence में Parts of Speech पहचानने का तरीका

किसी sentence में किसी word का Part of Speech पहचानने के लिए केवल word को अलग देखकर निर्णय नहीं लेना चाहिए। उसका sentence में actual use देखना जरूरी है।

Example:

The fast car won the race.

यहाँ fast car की quality बता रहा है, इसलिए यह Adjective है।

He runs fast.

यहाँ fast runs की manner बता रहा है, इसलिए यह Adverb की तरह काम कर रहा है।

• किसी word को केवल देखकर उसका Part of Speech तय करना।
• Adjective और Adverb को confuse करना।
