Verb क्या है? English Grammar में Verb एक बहुत महत्वपूर्ण part है। किसी sentence में किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु द्वारा किए गए काम, स्थिति या अवस्था को बताने वाला शब्द Verb कहलाता है।

1. Main Verb

जो Verb sentence में मुख्य action या state को बताता है, उसे Main Verb कहा जाता है।

2. Helping Verb

जो Verb Main Verb की सहायता करता है, उसे Helping Verb या Auxiliary Verb कहा जाता है।

जिस Verb के साथ किसी Object की आवश्यकता होती है, उसे Transitive Verb कहा जाता है।

यहाँ bought Verb है और a car उसका Object है।

4. Intransitive Verb

जिस Verb को अपना अर्थ पूरा करने के लिए Object की आवश्यकता नहीं होती, उसे Intransitive Verb कहा जाता है।

• Birds fly.
• He laughed.

Regular और Irregular Verbs

Regular Verb

जिन Verbs का Past Form सामान्यतः -ed जोड़कर बनता है, उन्हें Regular Verbs कहा जाता है।

Irregular Verb

वहीं I, We, You, They के साथ सामान्यतः Verb का base form इस्तेमाल होता है।
